يوقّع ولي العهد السعودي رئيس مجلس الوزراء والرئيس التركي ورئيس الوزراء الباكستاني اتفاق مكة للدفاع المشترك في قصر الصفا بمكة. ويقول البيان المشترك للقمة، الذي نشرته الحكومات الثلاث، إن الاتفاق يهدف إلى تعزيز الردع الجماعي ضد أي عمل عدواني، وينص على أن أي هجوم مسلح على أي من الدول الثلاث يُعدّ هجومًا عليها جميعًا، ويتيح تطوير جميع جوانب التعاون الدفاعي بينها. ولم يُنشر نص الاتفاق. وقال مسؤولون أتراك علنًا إن الاتفاق ليس موجهًا ضد أي طرف بعينه وإنه مفتوح أمام دول أخرى.
