Коротко

Широкий район діяльності
Based at Haifa on the Mediterranean; the Red Sea reachable from Eilat, as the July 2026 surfacing showed. No dispositions are authored.
Примітна історія
Israel has operated submarines since the 1950s, but the flotilla in its present form dates from the German-built Dolphin class: three boats delivered around 2000, largely financed by Germany, and three enlarged Dolphin II boats with air-independent propulsion, the first two of which arrived in the 2010s. The sixth, INS Drakon, began construction fourteen years before it sailed; its delivery was delayed for months in 2026 when Norway and Denmark barred it from their waters during sea trials under a German flag, and it completed a twenty-three-day passage to enter Haifa on 24 September 2026, where it formally joined the flotilla. The boats are widely assessed by outside analysts to carry a nuclear-capable sea-based capability, which Israel neither confirms nor denies as a matter of policy; that ambiguity is the flotilla's function. In July 2026 one boat surfaced deliberately off Eilat during the Houthi campaign, a signal read across the region, and the flotilla's commander said the sixth boat's value is the number that can be at sea at once.
Сильні сторони
The only survivable long-range capability in the module not held by a great power, a modern and now complete class, and a doctrine of ambiguity that costs nothing to maintain.
Обмеження
Six boats on two coasts joined only by the Suez Canal, of which the oldest three date from around 2000; dependence on a German industrial relationship that the 2026 transit dispute showed to be politically exposed; and a capability whose most important attribute is the one no one can verify. Nothing here describes availability, patrols or armament.
