Baltic Sentry added assets to a sea; Eastern Sentry added assets along a frontier; Arctic Sentry is described first as a way of SEEING what allies already do separately. Running since February 2026 and carried on SHAPE's own page of enhanced Vigilance Activities alongside Baltic Sentry and Eastern Sentry as of 22 September 2026. It has replaced nothing: Icelandic Air Policing and national Arctic activity continue, and NATO presents the activity as consolidating them rather than superseding them.
