- Historique notable
- Consolidated as a separate branch in 2022 from engineering, CBRN, topographic and related functions that had been the Ground Forces', on the pattern by which Ukraine has repeatedly turned a function into a branch — logistics, medical, special operations, drones — so that it can be commanded and resourced on its own. Its wartime record is the one the war's geography imposes: the fortification programme of 2023–24 after the southern offensive stalled on Russian engineering, the crossing and counter-mobility work along the Dnipro, and the demining of liberated and contaminated ground that the module's contamination chain describes as a decades-long problem. Its CBRN role sits beside the nuclear-facility records at Zaporizhzhia.
