Ce qui s’est passé
Des hommes armés ont attaqué le détachement de gendarmerie d’Inata, près de la mine d’or de la province du Soum, le matin du 14 novembre 2021. Le premier bilan du gouvernement, d’au moins 19 gendarmes et un civil, présenté comme provisoire, est passé à 49 gendarmes et quatre civils, la perte la plus lourde subie par les forces de sécurité depuis le début de l’insurrection en 2015. Le détachement avait signalé être resté environ deux semaines sans rations alimentaires avant l’attaque. Aucun groupe ne l’a revendiquée ; les informations l’attribuent à des combattants liés au JNIM.

It is the origin of the sequence the Burkina Faso lens records — two coups, "total war" and the mass mobilisation of the VDP — and the first of the three mass-casualty attacks on which that lens rests.
