- The second district's headquarters was moved to Jask, on the Gulf of Oman side of the strait, in a reorganisation that gave the conventional navy a seat outside the Gulf and expressed in geography the division of emphasis between the two services. Jask is also the terminus of the Goreh–Jask pipeline that Iran built to export crude without passing the strait — so the district's seat is at once naval and economic. Iranian media reported United States strikes at Jask on 1–2 September 2026, carried here as an Iranian report.
