Drawn by Vigil in IconSprite.astro from the 1992 order that defines all four PLA service flags on one construction: the top five eighths are the PLA flag and the bottom three eighths carry the service colour — sky blue, for the air. - Formed with the theatre commands in 2016 from the air forces of the former Nanjing Military Region. It is the organisation that generates the activity the outside world reads this system through: median-line crossings from August 2022 onward, daily air defence identification zone entries, and the large multi-service exercises the theatre announces by name. Two things are worth keeping apart when reading those numbers. The counts are Taiwanese detections published by Taiwan's defence ministry, not independent measurements; and a sortie is an event, not an intention — the module counts activity and does not infer purpose from volume. The 2026 pattern makes that caution concrete: detected air activity fell substantially through the first half of the year while naval and coast guard presence did not, which is a change in the mix of instruments rather than a reduction in pressure. The figures behind that observation live on the grey-zone pressure campaign record, which owns them; they are not restated here.

أعلنت قيادة المسرح الشرقي لجيش التحرير الشعبي صباح 29 ديسمبر 2025 مناورات مشتركة باسم رمزي «Justice Mission-2025»، شاركت فيها وحدات من القوات البرية والبحرية والجوية وقوة الصواريخ في المياه والمجال الجوي حول تايوان. وكانت ثامن مناورة كبرى حول الجزيرة منذ أغسطس 2022، واستمرت حتى أعلنت القيادة انتهاءها في وقت متأخر من 31 ديسمبر، وتركّز أشد النشاط في اليومين الأولين. وأبلغت وزارة الدفاع التايوانية عن رصد 89 طائرة و28 سفينة بحرية في اليوم الأول — منها 13 تابعة لخفر السواحل الصيني لا للبحرية — و71 طائرة و15 سفينة أخرى لخفر السواحل في اليوم الثاني؛ وكان يوم 29 ديسمبر ثاني أكبر يوم منفرد من حيث الدخول إلى منطقة تحديد هوية الدفاع الجوي على الإطلاق. ونُشرت مناطق الإغلاق المعلنة جزئيًا عبر تحذيرات ملاحية من قيادة المسرح الشرقي وجزئيًا عبر إدارة السلامة البحرية في جمهورية الصين الشعبية، مع إعلان منطقة إضافية عبر الراديو فقط. وتختلف الروايات بشأن المجموع: فقد حددت وزارة الدفاع التايوانية سبع مناطق مخصصة، بينما يحصي أحد التجميعات ثماني مناطق.
