PzH 2000

The German 155 mm self-propelled howitzer that Ukraine has fired since 2022 and that Germany, the Netherlands and Lithuania field on the flank — the gun whose wartime barrel wear and restarted production line show what sustained artillery war costs.

戰場角色

In Ukraine, long-range precision and counter-battery fire from a tracked, armoured gun. On the flank, the self-propelled artillery of the German and Dutch brigades and of Lithuania's mechanised brigade, and the system through which the module's ammunition-production economy object reads the shell and barrel demand of a modern gun fired at wartime rates.

優勢

A 52-calibre gun with an automatic loader and burst-fire capability, fully armoured, and accurate at long range with NATO precision rounds — the reason Ukrainian crews have publicly rated it among the best guns they have received.

限制

Barrel and loader wear at wartime firing rates far above the design assumptions, which sent Ukrainian guns to repair in Lithuania and Poland and made spares the constraint; a heavy tracked vehicle demanding in maintenance; a production line that had closed and had to be restarted in 2024, so that replacement guns for Germany and Ukraine arrive over years. No holdings or unit assignments are recorded.

外觀識別

A large tracked hull with a big, angular turret set to the rear and a very long 155 mm barrel with a large muzzle brake, carried in a travel lock over the front; seven road wheels.
