Malian Armed Forces (FAMa): Deliveries shown in Malian defence-ministry material from 2023 and in reporting of a further Russian consignment in January 2025; independent verification of numbers is limited. · Ukraine: Inherited Soviet stock, in service since long before 2022. · Russia: A standard wheeled APC of the Russian ground forces, extensively documented in Ukraine.
戰場角色
In Ukraine, a standard Russian wheeled APC documented throughout the war, with inherited Ukrainian stock alongside. In Mali, reported Russian deliveries re-equip FAMa's intervention columns — the protected mobility on which the hub-and-column model depends.
優勢
Road speed and range that tracked vehicles cannot match, amphibious capability, and a design cheap enough to be delivered in packages; the BTR-82A adds a stabilised 30 mm cannon.
限制
Thin armour and a flat floor: vulnerable to heavy machine guns, RPGs and mines, with side hatches that make dismounting under fire slow. In Ukraine it is among the most frequently documented losses; in Mali the IED threat exposes the same weakness.
外觀識別
Eight large wheels, a long sloped hull with a small conical turret (BTR-80) or a larger turret with a long 30 mm barrel (BTR-82A), and distinctive split side doors between the second and third wheels.

Shown in Malian defence-ministry footage of Russian deliveries in 2023 and reported in a further consignment landed in January 2025; reported with army columns in the central and northern regions. No employment in a named engagement is documented.
