- The Royal Saudi Air Force is the largest and best-equipped Arab air force in the Gulf, built on American F-15s and European Typhoons with airborne early-warning and tanker fleets that let it operate at scale. Its operational history is the 1991 Gulf War and, above all, the Yemen campaign from 2015, in which it flew the air war and its fighters became the first line against the missiles and drones that Yemen's Houthi movement fired into the kingdom for years. That experience is the reason Saudi air and missile defence entered the 2026 war with a decade of practice behind it. Ground-based defences are not this service's: they belong to the separate Air Defence Forces. Nothing this module has read establishes what the air force did in the current war, and this record does not infer it.
