Szeroki obszar działania
Belarusian airspace and the centres, areas and troop groupings the service is published as protecting; no site or coverage is authored.
Istotna historia
The ministry dates the service to 2001, when a new arm of the armed forces was formed from two lineages: the Air Force of 1992, built on the Soviet 26th Air Army, and air-defence forces the ministry traces to 1941 and to the 2nd Separate Air Defence Army of 1960. On 21 December 2001 the service moved to a new establishment, and in 2002 two operational-tactical commands, Western and North-Western, were created within it. Its published purpose is to protect centres, areas, objects and troop groupings from air strikes, to strike the enemy's forces and military-economic potential, and to support the Ground Forces. The monitoring read records, in 2026, the first published unit-level transition from S-300 to S-400 and regular alert flying against unmanned aircraft — carried here as class facts, not as an inventory.
Mocne strony
One service for aircraft and ground-based air defence, with a published two-command structure that mirrors the Ground Forces' and a Russian supplier relationship for its principal air-defence system.
Ograniczenia
A small service whose modernisation is published only through the monitoring read, in arrears; whether and how it is bound into a joint air-defence system with Russia was not reached by any source read and is not authored. Nothing about inventory, readiness or sites is authored.
