Qatar is a member state of the Board of Peace, one of the four guarantors of the Gaza ceasefire and one of the eight founding donors. Both Gaza ceasefires were mediated in part through Doha, so Qatar sits on the Board as funder and as a channel to Hamas.

Ali Al-Thawadi sits on the Gaza Executive Board named by the White House. Qatar's prime minister announced the January 2025 ceasefire in Doha, and Resolution 2803 credits Qatar, with the United States, Egypt and Türkiye, with facilitating the October 2025 ceasefire. Israel struck Hamas's political leadership in Doha on 9 September 2025.
