- Istotna historia
- Azerbaijan's ground force was rebuilt across two decades of oil-funded procurement from the army defeated in the first war, and its structure is Soviet in outline — army corps of motor-rifle brigades with artillery, rocket and anti-tank formations — and post-2020 in content. The 2020 war was won by the reconnaissance-strike complex of drones, loitering munitions and precision fires described on the parent record, with the ground force committed to take ground already made untenable; after it the ministry created commando brigades as a new class of formation, and in January 2024 the special forces' long-serving commander became the Land Forces' commander. The September 2023 operation completed the territorial outcome in a day. The corps below are named with their sectors as compiled references publish them; no brigade is listed.
