Was geschah

Das in Washington unterzeichnete Israelisch-Palästinensische Interimsabkommen teilt das Westjordanland in Gebiet A (palästinensische Zivil- und Sicherheitskontrolle), Gebiet B (palästinensische Zivilkontrolle, israelische Sicherheitskontrolle) und Gebiet C (israelische Zivil- und Sicherheitskontrolle), mit weiteren israelischen Truppenverlegungen, die nie abgeschlossen wurden. Es richtet eine gemeinsame Sicherheits- und Zivilkoordination ein.

Area C — roughly 60 per cent of the West Bank by commonly cited measures — remains under full Israeli control three decades on, and is where land registration, planning, demolition and settlement decisions are taken. The A/B/C map is formally in force and de facto eroded; the module records both facts.
