- STRUCTURE. The service raises, equips and trains; the theatre commands employ. The air organisation relevant to this module is therefore the Eastern Theater Command's air component, which is filed under the theatre rather than here, with the service relationship recorded as an edge on that record. This record carries no subordinates for that reason and not for want of material — the alternative would be to reproduce a national air order of battle, which explains nothing about the strait that the theatre component does not explain better. Modernised rapidly from a largely obsolete force in the 1990s to one operating modern multirole and low-observable aircraft alongside a substantial bomber and support fleet. Its role in this module is principally about tempo rather than capability: detected sorties around Taiwan, median-line crossings and ADIZ entries are the figures through which the outside world reads the pressure system — and are, importantly, detections published by Taiwan's defence ministry rather than independently measured facts.
