- The page traces the brigade to a rifle regiment raised on 1 November 1951, moved to its present garrison in 1953, reorganised as a mechanised rifle unit in 1987 and largely dissolved after conscription was suspended in 2004. The defence minister established it in its present form with effect from 1 January 2023, which the page calls an important change in the garrison’s life, and the designation was adjusted again from 1 September 2026.
