Podsumowanie

Acceded on 29 March 2004 in the largest single enlargement, together with Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. Membership carries the mutual-defence commitment of Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, under which an armed attack against one ally is treated as an attack against them all. Estonia hosts a Forward Land Forces battlegroup under United Kingdom framework leadership. This record states the membership and its date; it says nothing about how much this state spends, what it contributes, or how reliable any party considers it — none of which membership establishes.

Skład członkowski jest kręgosłupem tego modułu: każde wysunięte rozmieszczenie, każdy układ dowodzenia i każdy plan wzmocnień na tym teatrze działań istnieje z powodu tego, kto jest stroną tego traktatu, a kto nie.
