Opérateurs

Ukraine: Employment confirmed by Ukraine's General Staff for the January 2026 strikes on the Kapustin Yar range (announced 5 February 2026) and the 12 February 2026 strike at Kotluban in Volgograd region. The General Staff names no formation, so no formation edge is authored.

Rôle sur le champ de bataille

Deep strike against large fixed military targets inside Russia with a warhead an order of magnitude heavier than any Ukrainian drone carries: test ranges, depots and production sites. Its role beside the drone campaign is the heavy end of the same effort, used against targets a 50–75 kg warhead cannot address.

Points forts

Payload and reach as the manufacturer states them — a warhead of roughly a tonne and a range of about 3,000 km — and domestic origin, which removes the partner permissions that governed Storm Shadow and ATACMS. Russia's Defence Ministry acknowledged Flamingo employment at Kotluban while claiming interceptions, which is the strongest confirmation of use outside Ukraine's own statements.

Limites

Nearly everything quantitative is unverified: the range and warhead are developer specifications, production rates are stated by the company and not observed, and the number of missiles used in any strike is not established (one outlet's figure of four at Kapustin Yar is not in the General Staff's statement). A General Staff spokesman described it in November 2025 as an experimental weapon. A large, subsonic, non-stealthy missile is interceptable, and Russia claims interceptions Ukraine does not confirm.

Emploi documenté dans les conflits

Unveiled by Fire Point and shown to international media in August 2025. In November 2025 the General Staff said its first combat use had been in May 2025 and described it as experimental. On 5 February 2026 the General Staff announced that Flamingo had been used in a series of January strikes on the Kapustin Yar test range in Astrakhan region, with one hangar reported significantly damaged; on 12 February 2026 it confirmed Flamingo use against the Kotluban facility in Volgograd region, where Russia's Defence Ministry acknowledged the type and claimed five shot down. No later General Staff confirmation had been read at the time of writing.
