- The state border by statute; since 2022 the northern and north-eastern frontier sectors with Russia and Belarus, and front-line sectors where its combat detachments are assigned. Nothing about dispositions is authored.
- Bemerkenswerte Geschichte
- Reorganised in 2003 from the Border Troops into a law-enforcement service of the interior ministry with a military structure, the service was the first Ukrainian force to fight in 2014 and in 2022 its detachments were among the defenders of Mariupol and Azovstal, of Kharkiv and of the Kyiv approaches. The war has since given it two roles at once: guarding a frontier that is in places the front line — the Sumy and Kharkiv border sectors and the Kursk incursion's flanks — and fielding combat brigades of its own under the army's operational control, on the same parallel arrangement the National Guard fights under. Its offensive-guard brigades, raised in 2023, are the most publicly documented example.
