The design was verified independently of the file: the Armed Forces Flags Act and the vexillological record both give a red field with the blue-sky white-sun panel at the centre, which is what this file draws. - Bemerkenswerte Geschichte
- Designated the Second Theatre of Operations in the reorganisation effective 1 January 2022. The eastern coast has always been the strategically unusual part of Taiwan: separated from the population centres by a mountain range, thinly connected by road and rail, and for decades treated as the depth into which the island's air power and command arrangements could fall back. That assumption is what has changed. From the August 2022 exercises onward, PLA naval and air activity east of the island — and from 2026, standing China Coast Guard patrols in the same waters — has been the single most consistent trend in the pressure baseline. A theatre that was designed as a rear area is being treated by the other side as an approach.

- Terrain that is genuinely difficult to move through and easy to defend at the few points where movement is possible, and hardened infrastructure built into the mountains over decades.

Bis Juni 2026 hatte Aktivität der chinesischen Küstenwache in den Gewässern östlich von Taiwan nur im Rahmen angekündigter Militärübungen stattgefunden. Im Juni begann dort ein vom Kutter Daishan geführter Verband Patrouillen, die die Küstenwache als Rechtsdurchsetzung beschrieb, einschließlich Schiffskontrollen, Fischereischutz und Rettung. Am 4.
