Коротко
The Danube command of the Romanian Naval Forces, subordinate to the Naval Forces Staff on its own page and raised to a command in 2015 from the river service that preceded it. It holds administrative and operational responsibility for the management of the river space, the defence of river, lagoon and land communications and the freedom of navigation. It is the formation that makes Romania’s river frontage an organised military space rather than only a border, and it is authored for that reason.

- The command’s page traces river forces to the union of the Wallachian and Moldavian naval components into a Danube flotilla corps on 22 October 1860, through a war-flotilla command in 1886, a Danube flotilla in 1952, a river brigade in 1962 and a re-established Danube flotilla in 1995, renamed the River Flotilla in 2000, restructured as a river service in 2005–06 and raised again to the River Flotilla Command in 2015; it adopted the honorific in 2016 with an anniversary date of 1 April 1896.
