Коротко
The land service, defined by ministerial order V-780 of 1 September 2026 as a type of force of the Lithuanian Armed Forces subordinate to their Commander, responsible for the military protection and defence of Lithuanian land territory. Seated in Vilnius. Its published tree runs through the First Division to two brigades and an engineer regiment, with the Volunteer Force beside the division.

- The service’s statute was re-issued on 1 September 2026, at the end of a year in which the ministry approved new statutes for the Iron Wolf Brigade (April), the engineer regiment (July) and the Žemaitija Brigade (August) — the operative legal text of a division stood up under the principal-structure law amended in June 2024 and June 2025. The 2026 statute also fixes the service’s relationships outward: capabilities assigned to the Chief of the Defence Staff for operational direction, intelligence collected to his plan, training-area occupancy coordinated with the Training and Doctrine Board, and the Volunteer Force commander exempted from the rule that the service commander approves the statutes of directly subordinate units.

- A service whose tree is fixed in statute down to regiment level, with express subordination sentences, and which now holds a divisional headquarters between itself and the brigades. On the ground NATO describes as hosting a permanent German brigade, the national land force is being reorganised to the same echelon.

- The statute establishes structure and nothing else: no strength, readiness, holdings or stations are published in it or carried here. The third brigade and the artillery regiment named by the Seimas in 2025 have no statute in the register this project has read, so the published division is larger than the authored one, and this record says so.
