Die SDF verkünden ihre eigene Auflösung als eigenständige Streitmacht

SDF-Kommandeur Mazloum Abdi verkündete am 25. August 2026 im Präsidentenpalast in Damaskus das Ende der Mission der Syrian Democratic Forces und, in seinen Worten, „ihre Auflösung als unabhängige militärische Kraft“, nach dem, was er als Abschluss der Integration ihrer Kräfte in Brigaden der syrischen Armee im Rahmen der Vereinbarung vom 29.–30. Januar 2026 beschrieb. Er sagte, die Umstände hätten sich geändert und das Land sei in eine neue Phase eingetreten. Berichte über die Ankündigung halten begleitende Regelungen fest: die Anerkennung kurdischer kultureller, bürgerlicher und Bildungsrechte, wobei kurdischsprachiger Unterricht im laufenden Jahr eingeführt werden soll, Abdi als Berater von Präsident Ahmed al-Scharaa und Ilham Ahmed in der Parlamentsverwaltung. Regionale Berichte beschreiben die Ankündigung als auch auf die Autonome Administration und die ihr angeschlossenen militärischen und zivilen Formationen bezogen. Der Status der Fraueneinheiten blieb umstritten; Damaskus soll Stellen bei der Polizei des Innenministeriums angeboten haben, während die Einheiten eine Integration als Soldatinnen anstrebten. Five days earlier the same commander said the integration phase was complete and Damascus called those words an admission of dissolution; the module recorded both characterisations and adopted neither, because the difference determined whether a counterparty to the deferred constitutional question still existed. That question is now answered, and in Damascus's terms: the party to the January agreement has announced that it has ceased to exist as an independent force, and the officers who led it have taken individual positions inside the state rather than institutional ones representing a force. What replaces collective standing is a set of personal appointments and a language-education commitment — instruments that depend on the state's continued willingness rather than on anything the northeast can withhold. The constitutional file is not closed by this; it is left without an obvious signatory. The observable is whether Kurdish rights acquire constitutional text now that no armed party is positioned to demand it, and the near-term test is the women's units, where a dispute about which ministry receives them is a dispute about whether they are soldiers or police.
