The service flag of the Airborne Forces, adopted 2004 — a blue and green bicolour charged with the VDV emblem. The design itself is not an object of copyright: Article 1259(6) of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation excludes official symbols and signs. The file shipped is the Wikimedia Commons SVG "Flag of the Russian Airborne Troops.svg", released under PD-RU-exempt on that basis, so no attribution or share-alike obligation attaches. - The Tula division, with a lineage from the Soviet airborne and a reputation as the VDV's formation nearest Moscow, took part in the 2022 northern operation and withdrew through Belarus at the end of March to be redeployed to the eastern front. Its defining commitment came in 2023: after Wagner's withdrawal from Bakhmut it took over the city's flanks and held them through the summer counterattacks at Klishchiivka and Andriivka, with both its regiments identified publicly on that ground — among the most attritional defensive assignments of the war. Public tracking has since placed it on eastern sectors and, in 2024, against the Kursk incursion.
