- Hungary, on NATO territory. The formation operates in concert with national home defence forces and is present at all times in the host nation.

- NATO deployed multinational battlegroups to the eastern flank after 2014 and expanded the set after February 2022. In 2022 Allies agreed to scale them up to brigade size "when and where required" — and NATO notes that the formations are called multinational battlegroups regardless of size or organisational structure, which is why a scale change does not produce a name change.
